Shadowverse Evolve: Umamusume Pretty Derby - Top 10 Cards of the New Crossover Set
Nick Matthaiou - 14 December 2023
Shadowverse Evolve’s first crossover set is already making its impact into the meta. Since we have already seen several battles that feature numerous Umamusume cards or even the pure Umamusume deck, it is time to create a tier-list.
In this article, we will introduce you to the top-10 cards from the new set that we think every player should opt for. Without any further ado, let’s dive deeper into the most powerful cards from Umamusume Pretty Derby.
Creating our Tier-List: How Did We Pick the Cards Below?
As with most of our previous TCG tier lists, this Shadowverse Evolve tier list focuses entirely on the impact of the meta. As such, we believe that every card on this tier list will have a place in the Shadowverse Evolve competitive scene for a long time. Let’s uncover the top Umamusume Pretty Derby cards!
Umamusume Pretty Derby Tier-List: Best 10 Cards to Look For
1. Narita Brian
Our first selection for this tier-list is this 8-mana cost swordcraft follower. Narita Brian is one of the best cards of this set as it can be used on both Leonidas decks and Pure Uma ones. The 5 instant damage on an enemy leader or follower make this card a possible finisher.
In addition, the fact that she is a ward follower with both aura and bane effects, makes her a defence force. We have seen Narita in multiple deck combinations so far and we believe that this card will continue to be relevant for a long time.
2. Oguri Cap
Oguri Cap easily made it into our tier list. This 6-mana dragon follower is one of the best finishers we have seen in these 3 sets. Oguri Cap is played in three copies in every Discard Dragon deck and is also part of many Pure Uma decks.
Her ability to gain storm by discarding 2 cards is useful for two different reasons. First, it makes Oguri Cap an instant finisher. Second, she activates the discard mechanic. Her strike ability to deal 3 damage to each enemy follower on the field is also a big plus. Last but not least, the flexibility to feed her from 1 to 3 carrots and give her +6/+3 makes this card a powerful attacking follower.
3. Daiwa Scarlet
For many, including us, Daiwa Scarlet is the MVP card of Pure Umamusume decks. Daiwa Scarlet is a 4-mana spell searcher with unique abilities. The option to play all spells for 1 less mana point, while Daiwa is on the field, is simply incredible.
Also, the ability to give Storm to one of your followers on the field, when you play 3 spells on your turn, makes this card an indirect finisher. In a few words, if you play an Umamusume deck, you want Daiwa Scarlet always on your field.
4. Agnes Tachyon
Agnes Tachyon is played on both Runecraft decks and Pure Uma ones. This 2-mana legendary follower gives you the power to reduce the stats of an enemy follower whenever you play a spell.
If you choose to evolve her, you will continue to have the same ability as previous but you will also be able to take back into your hand a spell from your cemetery. Agnes Tachyon’s abilities are, of course, a great fit for all spellchain decks.
5. Silence Suzuka
This Forestcraft Umamusume follower is another great finisher in our list. Silence Suzuka is a 4-mana cost card with 4/1 stats and storm. We have already seen that Silence Suzuka can be played without the evolved form.
However, the truth is that you pretty much always need to evolve it right away in order to use it as a finisher. In evolved form, Silence Suzuka becomes a 5/2 follower with the ability to take an opponent's follower and put it on top of its owner’s deck. This means you can remove an opponent's follower from the field and potentially hit the enemy’s Leader directly.
6. Vodka
Although Vodka is a Gold Shadowverse Evolve card, it is one of the most necessary followers when it comes to Pure Uma decks. Vodka is a 3-mana follower that can be played as a 1-mana if there is a Daiwa Scarlet on your field.
However, the ability that makes Vodka so special is that you give +1/+1 to each Uma follower on your field when you play a spell. Even though you can only perform this effect once per turn, the ability to combine Vodka’s ability with Daiwa Scarlet’s spell effect is simply outstanding.
7. Riko Kashimoto [Planned Perfection]
Riko Kashimoto [Planned Perfection] is the only neutral selection we have for you today. This is a 6-mana follower with 6/6 stats that has the ability to destroy an enemy follower and deal 3 damage to its leader each time she attacks.
Of course, do not forget that you can’t have any other followers on your field to take advantage of Kashimoto's strike effect. In short, Riko Kashimoto [Planned Perfection] can easily be used to destroy powerful followers like Alexander while attacking your opponent's leader at the same time.
8. Special Week
Special Week is a Dragoncraft follower but it is only used in Pure Uma decks so far. This 2-mana follower has a fanfare ability that allows you to see the top card of your deck and put it into your hand if it’s an Umamuse follower.
This one card advantage is very important in many match ups. Special Week can also be evolved with 1-mana cost. In its evolved form, if overflow is active for you, she will give each Umamusume follower on your field +1/+1.
9. Tokai Teio
Let’s go back to Swordcraft followers. Tokai Teio is a 5-mana card with 4/4 stats that can help you destroy an enemy follower without much effort. More specifically, you can use her fanfare ability to select an enemy follower and deal damage to it equal to twice the number of followers on your field.
If you choose to evolve her for 2-mana cost, Tokai Teio becomes a 5/5 follower with storm. In short, Tokai Teio can help you destroy a powerful follower and deal a significant amount of damage to the enemy leader at the same turn.
10. Rice Shower
Last but not least, Rise Shower is the only Abysscraft follower in this list. Rise Shower is a 5-mana follower with 3/5 stats and Ward. Aside from the Ward effect, she also has a fanfare ability that allows you to deal 3 damage to one enemy follower and put the top two cards of your deck into your cemetery.
In addition, Rise Shower also has a last wards effect that allows you to choose an Umamusume follower, other than her, from your cemetery and put it into your hand. With that said, Rise Shower can help you to get rid of an enemy follower and boost your Necrocharge effect at the same time.
